Pause operations or uninstall safely
Choose the action that matches your intended change: pause outgoing updates for a shop, cancel paid renewal, or disconnect Zapstra Inventory Management by uninstalling it. Review unfinished work and billing first so your team can continue from known inventory and document states.
Choose the right action
| Your intention | Action | Result to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Temporarily stop Zapstra Inventory Management updates to a shop | Pause writeback in Authority and sync | That shop shows Writeback setting: Paused |
| Resume a shop's outgoing updates | Resume writeback, after reviewing inventory readiness | The pause is removed; any separate billing or inventory-control hold must also be resolved |
| End paid renewal | Review end-of-period cancellation in billing | Shopify cancellation and the paid-through date are confirmed |
| Disconnect a shop | Uninstall Zapstra Inventory Management in that shop's Shopify admin | The app is removed from the intended shop; review the remaining organization's billing |
| Continue after an inactivity or billing pause | Follow the Home live-sync and billing messages | Capacity, catch-up and inventory control are ready before expecting updates |
Pause mission on Home parks an onboarding goal. It does not pause stock updates or cancel billing.
Prepare before a longer pause or removal
Coordinate the change with the people receiving goods, using Stock Scan and managing the affected shops. Identify who will maintain inventory while updates are paused or Inventory Management is disconnected.
- Review open purchase orders, shipments, unfinished receipts, transfers, production orders, disputes and invoices. Note which records still need action and who will handle them.
- Check Stock Scan for captured or pending work and verify whether the original operation has been accepted. A pending upload is not confirmation that stock was updated. Follow Offline work and scanner recovery.
- Download the operational records you need using the available document downloads and Data Exchange exports. Open the files and check their contents before removing access. There is no general export-all-account-data action in Zapstra Inventory Management Settings.
- Open Home > Manage billing. Record the payer shop, any unresolved approval or command, and the displayed subscription status.
- If other shops will keep using the organization, arrange a payer transfer before uninstalling the current payer. Verify both the new payer and old-subscription cleanup using Billing management.
Do not submit unfinished inventory work merely to clear a queue. Complete only the work that has physically happened, and preserve references for anything still in progress. If an earlier action timed out, inspect the existing receipt, transfer, build or import result before repeating it.
Pause and resume outgoing updates for a shop
Use the per-shop control when you want to stop outgoing updates while retaining your connected workspace. You need permission to edit Zapstra Inventory Management inventory settings.
- Open Inventory > Locations & pools > Authority and sync.
- Find the intended shop by its name and shop identifier. Review its inventory control and writeback status.
- Select Pause writeback when it is available.
- Wait for the page to refresh and confirm Writeback setting: Paused on that shop. If an error appears, check the current state before trying again.
While outgoing updates are paused, supported receipts, counts and transfers can still post to Zapstra Inventory Management when operational capacity permits. Those updates remain in Zapstra Inventory Management for the paused shop. Review your Shopify quantities separately; pausing does not stop people making changes in Shopify or another system. Other shops have their own writeback settings, and a writeback pause does not cancel the subscription.
To resume, review the intervening stock changes and return to the same shop's Resume writeback action. Verify the refreshed setting. A separate inventory-control confirmation, live-sync pause or billing restriction can still prevent updates. Follow Choose who controls inventory and enable syncing before expecting stock to reach Shopify.
Respond to a live-sync pause on Home
Zapstra Inventory Management live sync is paused describes a broader live-sync state. Read the last-synced time when available and the offered next action.
- If Resume Zapstra Inventory Management live sync is available, an organization administrator can request resumption.
- If Choose a live-operations plan is shown, resolve the plan requirement in billing first.
- If Check billing status is shown because capacity could not be verified, establish the billing result before retrying.
- If Home shows Catching up on changes made while paused, review preparation details. Use Retry catch-up if offered to continue the original request.
An accepted resume request may still be catching up. Check readiness and any request to Confirm inventory control before treating Shopify updates as active. Ordinary Control, inactivity-paused Control and Control after billing recovery have different behavior; see the plan and capacity reference.
Cancel renewal at period end
An organization owner or administrator can request cancellation from billing.
- Open Home > Manage billing and review the current payer.
- In Organization billing payer, select Review end-of-period cancellation.
- Read Cancel renewal at period end, including the no-refund terms and effect on capacity.
- Select Cancel renewal without a refund if you want to proceed.
- Verify the resulting status. If the command is pending, use Check or retry the same command. Confirm the displayed paid-through date once Shopify cancellation is verified.
Paid-plan capacity remains available through the verified paid-through date. Afterward, the billing-recovery Control state pauses device writes and live sync while retaining read access and captured history. An administrator can approve a paid plan to resume. A pending request does not establish that renewal was cancelled.
Uninstall from a shop
Zapstra Inventory Management does not provide a separate in-app linked-shop removal action. To disconnect a shop:
- Complete the preparation above and confirm that you are in the shop you intend to disconnect.
- In Organization billing payer, select Open this shop's installed apps.
- In Shopify, select Zapstra Inventory Management and follow the uninstall prompts. Review Shopify's confirmation carefully.
- If other shops remain connected, open Zapstra Inventory Management in a remaining shop. Review the active linked-shop count, current payer and any billing correction or recovery message.
If uninstalling the paid payer starts recovery, the billing banner shows the fixed deadline for approving a new payer. An existing confirmed end-of-period cancellation keeps its paid-through boundary; uninstalling does not create a new recovery window. Retained activity during a recovery window is not billed retroactively, and retries do not restart the deadline. After it expires, device writes and live sync pause until an administrator approves a paid plan.
Keep the records you need before uninstalling. Access to captured history during a connected workspace's pause does not establish a retention period after removal. For a data-erasure request or confirmation of applicable retention, contact Support before removing your remaining access. Treat an erasure request and confirmation of completed deletion as separate outcomes.
